Manananggal – 2

Case # 31JK3

The police were informed of human remains dumped near the highway at 12 midnight. The dumping grounds were by a space with many banana trees.

The remains were of a woman’s lower half. Jagged cuts were found as if she had been butchered.

The investigation continued the next day.

After canvassing nearby towns, it was found that a woman, Conchita Morales, was missing.

The remains matched her description and the police proceeded to ask her neighbors when was the last time they saw her.

Agapito Reyes said that he saw her right before sunset. She was preparing her dinner, a dish of dinuguan, though he noticed she didn’t have any meat (They were talking by the kitchen). He said his goodbyes and returned to his house.

No one else interacted with her that night.

There were reports of an animal attack nearby. A giant bat was harassing passersby, though it was found that it was unrelated to the Morales case.

As of writing the case is still ongoing. The remains are still kept in the morgue pending burial.
