The Star of the Morning

“Father why do you take the winding road when we herd our sheep?”
“We keep it as tradition, to honor her.”

‘” Her?’”

“The star of the morning.”
“Who is she?”
“She walked among us in times long past and her story is remembered, though not without sorrow.”
“What do the shepherds say?”
“She was not of our people.”
“A stranger?”

“Yes, but she became one among us. There are times when the elders of our village look up to the night sky. For her.”
“The night sky?”
“I’m getting ahead of myself.”
“Please, continue your story.”

“She was found after a terrible battle. Then, multiple kingdoms dotted the surrounding areas. All were out for blood. It was during this time that one of the kingdoms fell and their prince and princes were separated.

One became royalty.

The other a shepherd.

You should hear elder Abdul wax poetic about how she tendered her flock.

It was as if they lived in a fable.

She eventually worked her way to the other kingdom.

Her up brining served her well, not trusting anyone that crossed her path.

There she fell in love.

She was taken by his beauty and him by her strength.

They spent many years together before they found out.”
“Found out what?”
“That they came from the same kingdom and the same mother. Their love could never be and they prayed to the Almighty. He took pity on them and looked over the kingdoms of heaven.
She was forever put in the East kingdom of heaven. Never meeting her love.”
