Ini isa ka sugilanon nahanungud sa tampad nga paghigugma kag sang isa ka matahum nga engkantada. Kag kon paano ang kahisa makaguba sang tanan.
Sa malawig nga panahon na ang nagligad, may nagapangabuhi nga mag-asawa upod ang ila tatlo ka mga kabataan. Bisan kubos, malipayon sila sa kon ano ang may ara sila. Ang amay sang panimalay amo si Andoy samtang si Regi naman ang iloy.
Kalipayan ni Andoy ang pagpanakop sang mga talonon nga mga munga kag sulog nga mga manok pina-agi sa pag tiro sini sa ila sa idalum sang kahoy nga Lunok. Isa sadto ka adlaw, may matahum nga babayi nga may nakaptan nga latigo ang nagpakita sa idalum sang kahoy. Ginapangita sang engkatada ang iya mga nadula nga mga munga kag sulog. Gani, gilayon nga nagpangayo pasaylo si Andoy sa iya nga hinimu-an.
Bangud sini, imbes nga pagasilutan sang engkatada si Andoy, iya na lang ini gin abi-abi sa iya matahum nga puluy-an kag gintagaan pa sang pagkaon nga kwarta.
Nag-abot ang tion kon sa diin ang engkatada natun-an nga higugmaon si Andoy. Iya ginhambalan si Andoy nga iya pagasustentuhan ang iya panimalay kon masugot siya nga magpuyo upod sa iya kon kis-a. Nagpasugot si Andoy.
Apang paano iya ang asawa sini? Si Regi kag ang enkantada masami nga nagasugilanohay kag nangin suod sila nga mag-abyan apang wala sini bisan kaisa nakita ang nawong sang engkantada.
Nangin maayo kag malinong ang pagpangabuhi nanday Regi, Andoy kag ang ila mga kabataan bangud sang kaalwan sang engkantada. Sa pihak sini, may ginahuptan nga kalain sang buot kag kahisa ang mga tawo sa palibot nga indi luyag nga manginpulos ang panimalay ni Regi sa manggad sang engkantada.
Isa sa mga paryente nila nag enganyo kay Regi nga tukibon ang nawong sang engkatada pinaagi sa masanag nga suga. Sunod sina, gin-agda ni Regi ang engkatada nga mag tulog sa ila puloy-an, nag sugot ang engkatada sa isa ka kondisyon nga wala sang bisan ano nga suga nga magasiga sa bilog nga gab-i.
May pagsinadya kag selebrasyon sadto nga gab-i. Sang natulugan na ang engkatada, gilayon nga nagkuha si Regi sang posporo kag ginsindihan ini sa atubang sang nawong sang nagakatulog nga engkantada. Sunud sina, nagbangon ang engkantada kag nagdalagan pa-gwa sa pwertahan, ginsundan siya ni Andoy. Ang pagtangis sang engkantada mabatian sa bilog nga balay.
Gindala sang engkantada si Andoy bilang timalos sa ginhimo ni Regi. Wala na liwat nagpakita ang engkantada kag si Andoy.
Si Regi nabilin upod ang tatlo ka mga kabataan. Kag bangud wala na nagpakita sang kaalwan ang engkantada, sila nangabuhi nga misirable kag sa kasakit tubtub sa katubtuban.

English Version
This is a story about a faithful love and a beautiful fairy. And how jealousy destroys all.
In times long past there lived a couple with three children. They had little but were happy with what they had. The husband’s name was Andoy and the wife’s name was Regi.
Andoy would amuse himself by luring wild hens and roosters under a nearby Balete tree and shooting them. One day, a beautiful woman with a whip appeared under the tree. The fairy was looking for her lost hens and roosters and immediately Andoy apologized for what he had done.
The fairy, had a change of heart and instead of punishing Andoy, showed him her beautiful home and gave him some food and money.
Time passed and the fairy fell in love with Andoy. She told him that she would provide for his family if he consented to live with her once in a while. Andoy agreed.
But what of the wife? Regi and the fairy actually had conversations and became close friends, though Regi was never able to see the face of the fairy for the fairy would not allow it.
Regi, Andoy and their three children lived with riches and peace because of the fairy. But with riches come resentment, and jealous people from all around wanted to make sure Regi and her family would not profit from the fairy’s riches.
One relative managed to convince Regi to find out the face of the fairy with a bright light. It was then that Regi asked the fairy to sleep in their house, the fairy consented but under the condition that there would be no light throughout the whole night.
The merriment and celebration lasted through the night, when the fairy was finally asleep, Regi took a match and put it in front of the fairy’s face. The fairy rushed out the door and Andoy followed her. The tears of the fairy could be heard all throughout the house.
The fairy would get her revenge. She took Andoy and they were never seen again.
Regi was left with her three children, without the riches that the fairy provided. She lived a life of misery and pain until the end.

*The Hiligaynon language, also colloquially referred often by most of its speakers simply as Ilonggo, is an Austronesian regional language spoken in the Philippines by about 9.1 million people, mainly in Western Visayas and SOCCSKSARGEN, most of whom belong to the Visayan ethnic group, mainly the Hiligaynons. It is the second-most widely spoken language and a member of the so-named Visayan language family and is more distantly related to other Philippine languages.
